Grizzlies Win, 7-4, Versus Seawolves
|
In the 7-4 Vancouver win over Erie, the impact of Clint Beda was substantial. Beda, who finished 5th in the FL in RBI with 96 in 2050, went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Juan Alemán got the win, improving to 9-3. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. With the win, Vancouver upped its record to 41-29.
With Vancouver leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Beda hit a fastball from Ron Lenger for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Grizzlies ahead, 5-1.
"It's not about individual awards," Beda told a Vancouver Daily News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
