Mahoning Valley Loses, 3-2, to New York in 15
|
Fans who congregated at Canal Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The New York Empire, despite a fine performance by Mahoning Valley pitcher Chris Ahrendt, grabbed a 3-2 win in 15 innings at Canal Park. Ahrendt allowed 1 run over 7 innings. After today's action, New York sits at 34-37; Mahoning Valley slips to 33-37.
Jesús Escobedo came through with a big-time hit for New York. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the 15th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Jack Albright, the New York skipper.
