Cassone Shines in 8-4 Erie Win
|
Mike Cassone helped his team muscle past the California Dreamers, 8-4. In the game, the Erie first baseman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Jonathan Reese got the win, improving to 9-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 0. After today's action, Erie sits at 31-36, while California falls to 39-26.
With Erie leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Cassone hit a changeup from Gus Russum for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Seawolves ahead, 5-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Cassone. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
