Dreamers Prevail, 6-4, Over Erie
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the California Dreamers and Erie Seawolves.
The California Dreamers topped the Erie Seawolves, 6-4, with left fielder David Puddy playing a big role. Puddy was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Dreamers in the win. Ty Mosser earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Julián Alarcon converted his 4th save in 6 tries.
Puddy contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for California in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Puddy took a changeup from Ron Lenger and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Dreamers to leap in front, 2-1.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said California manager Matt Walker.
The win puts California at 39-25 this season.
