Generals Get One-Run Win at Chicago
|
Mike Laino was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Washington and Chicago. The Generals right-hander helped his team beat the Dogs, 2-1. In 5 innings, Laino surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Jong-kook Kym converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.
Washington relied on the hitting of John Nemecek to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Generals on top, 1-0. For the game, Nemecek had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Laino called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The win has Washington at 21-34.
