Scrappers Win, 1-0, Versus Milkmen
|
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chad Ávila, who stifled the Milwaukee offense en route to a 1-0 Scrappers win at Canal Park. The 7th-place Milkmen have lost 4 straight games.
The Scrappers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Stan Quarto. For the game, Quarto went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 19th double of the season gave Mahoning Valley a 1-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Quarto.
