Lizik Smacks 5 Hits for Rapids
Saturday, June 23rd , 2063
Today at Ragin Cajuns Ballpark, Thalen Lizik put on an impressive display.
The Niagara Falls Rapids right fielder tagged Death Valley pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Death Valley Scorpions by the score of 6-5.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Lizik said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Rapids manager was unwilling to offer the right fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.
"Thalen told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Pat Arballo said.
Thalen Lizik singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Derrick Boccia in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mandela Salim in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this year in 54 games Lizik is hitting .343 with 19 home runs, 43 RBIs and 57 runs scored.
