Friend Parks 3 for Yonkers

Fans seated in the bleacher section at The Pond were taking cover all day long as Steven Friend zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power.
The big game from the Yonkers right fielder helped the Hounds take the victory, 13-1, over the Chesapeake Mallards.
"I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing."
For the game, he collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs.
Steven Friend flied out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Elvis Stringer in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Orin Benrs in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Elwin Magomu in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
Looking at his season stats, Friend has compiled a .311 batting average and a .373 on-base percentage, while hitting 23 home runs and driving in 57 runs.
