Bang-up Game: Ren Slams 3 Homers Sunday, April 25th , 2060 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Belle River Bombers today. Omaha first baseman Abdoul Ren tripled up on the home runs to propel the Blackbirds to the 11-3 win at Bomber Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Belle River manager Kanye Huff said. "Ren hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Ren collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Abdoul Ren hit a solo-shot off Knox Johnson in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Emmet Watson in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off De'Von Salazar in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This year Ren has batted at a .271 pace with 13 hits, 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 9 times. |
