League KO's Oaks-Dolphins Players with 4-Game Suspensions Friday, September 5th , 2059 Nobody was hurt in a confrontation yesterday between the Oaks Branden Silzer and the Dolphins Marcus Welch as both benches cleared during the fracas at Ballpark of Moreno Valley. It appeared that there were a few punches thrown before the players could be separated. Today the league commissioner took action. The league decided to punish the guilty parties. Branden Silzer and Marcus Welch will each have to sit out 4-game suspensions for their roles in this fight. In 55 games Silzer is hitting .222 this season with 39 hits, 9 home runs, 26 RBIs, 35 walks, .355 OBP and has scored 25 runs. To date this season, Welch has registered 0 starts, 2-1 won-lost mark, 7.07 ERA, 35.2 IP, 33 strikeouts and 21 walks. Opposing teams have hit .271 against him. |
