Wolverines Halt Castro's Hit Streak Saturday, March 4th , 2062 After 21 games, Jaren Castro had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the Chandler HS Wolverines at The Bear Den. The Jackson HS Polar Bears third baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Castro seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Polar Bears taking a 7-2 victory from the Wolverines. "It was good while it lasted," Castro said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." This season Castro has banged out 19 hits in 47 at-bats for a .404 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .533 pace and his totals also include 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |
