No Late-Season Magic Coming: Huntington Beach HS Out of Playoffs Monday, April 14th , 2059 Members of the Huntington Beach HS Oilers are left wondering what could have been today, as the team has been eliminated from postseason contention. "You look back at a handful of games that easily could have gone the other way for us," said starting pitcher Ammon Boykin. "We really think we were good enough to get to the playoffs this year, so it stings." Before this season, the Oilers had made the playoffs 4 times in a row. In the 34 years they have been a High School franchise, they have missed the playoffs 21 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Oilers have made the playoffs 6 times. Huntington Beach HS has won the HS Championship 3 times in their history. |
