Poly Prep Country Day School Blue Devils starter Eddie Mears kept the Vandals cold all day, shutting them out in a 11-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 17-year-old hurler allowed 7 hits while striking out 6 and walking 0. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Mears admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves." On the season Mears has compiled a 3-0 mark with a 1.82 ERA in 5 starts.
