Monster 3-HR Day for Parker
Sunday, June 22nd , 2064
John Parker brutalized the Fort Myers Capitals pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 10-3 Kinston victory at Riflemen Ballpark. The Kinston Indians left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much John Parker today," Capitals manager Robby Kelleher said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
John Parker struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Preston Slawski in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Preston Slawski in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Mainaky in the 7th.
Currently Parker is hitting .213 and has collected 19 home runs, 40 RBIs and scored 36 times, while playing in 56 games.
