Capitals Cape August's Top Hurler

So when does a fireman win an award? When he's named Zackary Cape, that's when. The Fort Myers reliever won the Pitcher of the Month Award honors today for August, thanks to the solid numbers he put up coming out of the bullpen.
He made no relief appearances and compiled no saves with a 4-0 mark, 45.1 innings, 32 strikeouts and a 1.99 ERA.
So far this season, Cape has compiled a 10-5 won-lost mark with 1 save and a 3.94 ERA. In 169 innings he has fanned 147 and opponents are hitting him at a .271 clip.

August's #1 Hurler Announced: Lukin Wins Award

A spectacular August in the Lexington Distillers bullpen earned Jim Lukin the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Herbert League.
He picked up no saves in no save opportunities and had 27 strikeouts in 34.1 innings. Lukin racked up 4 wins and no losses.
For the year Lukin has no saves. In no relief appearances he has hurled 131.2 innings, fanned 120 and issued 23 walks with a 10-5 record. The Lexington reliever has recorded a 2.80 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .237 when he is on the hill.
