Capitals Cape August's Top Hurler Monday, September 1st , 2059 So when does a fireman win an award? When he's named Zackary Cape, that's when. The Fort Myers reliever won the Pitcher of the Month Award honors today for August, thanks to the solid numbers he put up coming out of the bullpen. He made no relief appearances and compiled no saves with a 4-0 mark, 45.1 innings, 32 strikeouts and a 1.99 ERA. So far this season, Cape has compiled a 10-5 won-lost mark with 1 save and a 3.94 ERA. In 169 innings he has fanned 147 and opponents are hitting him at a .271 clip. |
