Velez Stretches Hit String to 20 Monday, May 12th , 2059 The hitting streak for Lynn right fielder Tyson Velez now stands at 20 games, but the Patriots dropped today's contest 4-1 to the Reno Railers. Velez went 2-for-5 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 2 hits and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Tyson Velez hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Velez is hitting .384 for the season with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 99 at-bats and played in 23 games. |
