Comets Prevail, as Divisional Series Goes to the Wire
Wednesday, September 17th , 2064
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Submarines Ballpark as the Divisional Series stretched to the final game.

It was the New York Comets feeling the thrill of victory, with a 4-2 win over the Fort Wayne Herons, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the League Championship.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Fort Wayne manager Ellis Gibson. "Congratulations to New York, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 2-1 series win was left fielder J.D. Diltz, who was named MVP. He hit .455 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The League Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
