Herons Prevail, as Wild Card Goes to the Wire Friday, September 12th , 2059 The Fort Wayne Herons and Lynn Patriots didn't hold back anything in the Wild Card, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Divisional Series. Fort Wayne won the final game by a score of 3-1 at Submarines Ballpark and that concluded the series, 2-1. "Relief is the biggest thing," Fort Wayne left fielder Shawn Gunn said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Lynn deserves credit for the hard fight." Gunn paced the Fort Wayne offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .455 with a .538 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.
