After a 5-hit effort to lead Juarez's 22-4 victory over the Winston-Salem Warthogs, left fielder Ricky Stegall told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Horizon League-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Warthogs.

"His swing is getting there," said Guerreros skipper T.J. Wright, who spoke glowingly of Stegall after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ricky did that to perfection today."

Ricky Stegall hit a two-run single in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jakob Williamson in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.

This year Stegall has hit 7 home runs and posted a .237 batting average.
