Veteran Turner Hits Three Dingers
Friday, August 24th , 2068
Bakersfield Cannons designated hitter Evan Turner had a magnificent game against the Winston-Salem Warthogs, rocketing three balls out of Tobs Ballpark to help the Cannons win, 12-6.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Turner went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Bakersfield manager Cris Sykes said later. "Seems like Evan found his home run stroke today."
Evan Turner grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off DeJohn Ortiz in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Carl Jorgensen in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ledrick Castillo in the 9th.
This season, Turner is hitting .212 with 7 hits, 6 home runs, 9 RBIs, scored 7 runs and played in 9 games.
