Thorn's 20-Game Hitting Streak Ends Friday, June 27th , 2059 Vancouver second baseman Emmanuel Thorn experienced something against the Des Plaines Golden Heroes he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Golden Heroes pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 20 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Thunderbirds to a 4-3 victory at Playboys Ballpark. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 20-game hitting streak," Thorn joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." For the season Thorn is currently batting .324 with 5 home runs and 30 RBIs. In 58 games he has reached base at a .370 rate and scored 32 runs to date. |
