Cyclones Gardner Sizzles with Cycle Wednesday, August 1st , 2063 Deontay Gardner accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Carolina Tobs in the 8-7 New York Cyclones win at Tobs Stadium. Afterward, Gardner acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Cyclones win. "Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Gardner said. On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 6 runs batted in and 1 run scored -- and also got a spot in the history books. Deontay Gardner doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Charlie Cruz in the 6th and struck out in the 9th.
