Sikes Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Bulls Wednesday, July 23rd , 2059 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Stan Sikes can celebrate. The California Kodiaks right fielder powered three into the stands at Rocky Top Park today against the Denver Bulls. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Sikes told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Kodiaks toppled Denver by a score of 5-3, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," California manager Louie Sumski said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Stan Sikes hit a solo-shot off Webb Martinez in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Webb Martinez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Webb Martinez in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. Currently Sikes is batting .293 with 25 home runs and 69 RBIs. |
