Evan Turner Named WBC's Best Player

At the age of 22, Evan Turner of the USA could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2056 was good enough to win the left fielder the World Baseball Classic Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .346 batting average this year, as well as a .404 on-base percentage. He played 20 games and racked up 28 hits, 9 doubles, no triples, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Val Schmit of the USA finished second in voting, while Tyrek Schaaf of the Europe finished third.

Behold, the champions: Europe emerged from a tough field of competitors today as winner of the 2056 World Baseball Classic, topping USA in the final game by a score of 4-3.
"I'm proud of us," said Europe . "Nobody made this easy for us -- we earned it."
