The Washington Bats took the first game of the League Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the California Kodiaks 5-4 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Bats right fielder Ty Dec went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

The most significant at-bat for Washington came with the bases empty in the bottom of the tenth. Bats pinch hitter Seth Estee hit a triple to win the game.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Washington manager Pat Fiume told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Capitol in Washington.
