Swanson Blasts Wildcats, Voodoo Take Game 4, 4-2
|
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the Divisional Series, the Wilmington Wildcats could not close the deal.
Game 4 went into extra frames and the New Orleans Voodoo emerged victorious, taking a 10-inning, walk-off win by the final score of 4-2. New Orleans first baseman Dez Swanson hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the win at Henry Byrd Field today to drag the Voodoo back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Swanson hit a sinker from Ron Thomas for a 2-run home run. The Voodoo, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Swanson said.
Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at Riverfront Park in Wilmington.
