Thomas Fashions Shutout Against Patriots
The Wilmington Wildcats did little to support starter Ron Thomas against the Pawtucket Patriots, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Patriots, striking out 7 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Thomas allowed Wilmington to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Ron, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Thomas told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

Currently Thomas has a 8-4 won-lost record in 17 starts with a 3.04 ERA. He also has 103 strikeouts in 112.1 innings.
