Toronto third baseman Odell Mapute played a vital role in his team's 7-3 triumph over Pittsburgh. He was 2-2 with 2 home runs, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Toronto. Brian Clark notched his 23rd save in 26 chances. With the win, the Canadians have a record of 45-34.

With Toronto leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Mapute hit a splitter from Bert Franklin for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Canadians ahead, 4-1.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Mapute told the Toronto Gazette.
