Millers Pull Even With 3-1 Victory
|
In a low-scoring clash between Pittsburgh and Toronto, pitcher Stephen Gibbs was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. Gibbs, now 9-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Millers upped their record to 38-38.
Isaac Pack, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pack contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Toronto manager Tom Dingman. "But this was a tough one."
