Bowman Helps Toronto Cruise to 11-1 Win
|
With right fielder Reese Bowman leading the charge, the Toronto Canadians defeated the Pittsburgh Millers, 11-1, at Dylan Owens Stadium. Bowman, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2055 draft, went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Drew Durham got the win, improving to 7-0. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Toronto has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
With Toronto leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Bowman hit a fastball from Drew Henthorne for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Canadians ahead, 3-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Bowman said. "We did a good job of that today."
