|
Led by Trent West, the Pawtucket Patriots downed the Hartford Whalers, 8-5. West went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Patriots. Allan Allen got the win, improving to 7-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Donavon Anway got credit for the save for Pawtucket. It was his 5th of the year.
With Pawtucket leading 1-0 in the top of the first, West hit a curveball from Braydon Lynn for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Patriots ahead, 3-0.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," West told the Pawtucket Times.
