Bats Drop 4-2 Decision
|
California Kodiaks starter Benedict Zacarias was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Washington Bats, 4-2. In 7.1 innings, Zacarias surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Peyton Gerber nailed down his 16th save.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Stan Sikes. For the game, Sikes went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 26th double of the season gave California a 3-2 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Zacarias said after the game.
California, at 39-34, sits in second place in the Import League Bock Division.
