Bulls Take Down Freedom, 3-2
|
The Denver Bulls wiggled past the Philadelphia Freedom, 3-2, at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Denver left fielder Johnathan Wang. Tristan O'Neal got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Earning his 14th save of the year was Colby Saunders.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Wang delivered big-time for Denver, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Guy Hunnicutt. The game-changing hit put the Bulls on top, 3-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Philadelphia manager Ron Welch.
The 5th-place Freedom have lost 4 straight games.
