Philadelphia Beats Baltimore, 5-2
|
Starting pitcher Seth Faber took care of business, helping the Philadelphia Freedom stifle the Baltimore Bulldogs, 5-2. Faber, now 3-8, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Guy Hunnicutt, his 15th this season.
Nelson Chandler, the 25-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Chandler contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Faber told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The last-place Freedom improved to 24-44.
