Voodoo Shut Out Clowns, 4-0
|
New Orleans used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joel Thompson to down the Indianapolis Clowns, 4-0. Thompson picked up the win for New Orleans, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Indianapolis drops to 5-2.
The Clowns had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Voodoo going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Lon Leseberg came to the plate. Leseberg hit a run-scoring double on a 2-2 fastball from Indianapolis hurler Charles Hofer. It was Leseberg's 2nd double of the year.
"I really like what we did out there today," Leseberg said after the game.
