The Windy City Blues had no problem beating the Hartford Whalers, 14-2, at Jistic Field. Erik Gripka led the way. He went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2 for Windy City. Damon Neckles got the win, improving to 5-0. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. The first-place Blues raised their record to 34-28.
