On Road, Indianapolis Beats California, 8-1
|
Indianapolis picked up a win at In-N-Out Field, bumping off the California Kodiaks, 8-1. Pitcher R.J. Shaw was a major reason the Clowns emerged victorious. Thaddeus Morrison got credit for the save for Indianapolis. It was his 2nd of the year. The 4th-place Kodiaks have lost 5 consecutive games.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Damon Squyres to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Clowns on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Shaw.
