Voodoo Lose, 6-4
|
Pawtucket took on New Orleans in front of a lively crowd.
Andy Christman had a good game, but he could not keep the New Orleans Voodoo from falling, 6-4, to the Pawtucket Patriots at Henry Byrd Field. The New Orleans catcher was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. The winner was Pawtucket reliever Brendan Moeller, now 2-1. The loser was Spencer Maldonado. Ridley Diez, who finished 4th in the DL in saves with 35 last year, earned the save for Pawtucket.
It could have been a different outcome for Pawtucket, had it not been for Christopher Galluzzo, the 24-year old second baseman . Galluzzo contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Pawtucket up, 2-0.
"It was our day today," Galluzzo told the Pawtucket Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Patriots improved to 27-32.
