Tobs Earn 3-0 Win Against Freedom
|
Fans who congregated at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field were treated to extra-inning drama.
Carolina got a strong outing from Chase Vaughan as the Tobs defeated the Philadelphia Freedom, 3-0, at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. Dalton Blair was credited with the save for Carolina, his 11th of the season.
Carolina used the clutch hitting of Rykeem Potts to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tobs ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We had a good game plan," Vaughan said, "and we were able to execute it."
The Tobs saw their win-loss record go to 24-30. At the same time, the Freedom fell to 21-34.
