Whalers Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Pittsburgh
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Pittsburgh Millers and Hartford Whalers get after it.
Getting an impressive start from Jamel Thomas, Hartford beat Pittsburgh by the score of 6-1. Thomas got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Thomas allowed 1 run.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Ian Schreiber barreled up a fastball from Drew Henthorne. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Whalers in front, 5-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Thomas said after the game.
At 24-32, the Whalers find themselves in 5th place in the Domestic League Ale Division.
