Roadrunners Nip Sharks, 5-4

Spirited fans greeted the Los Angeles Sharks for their clash with the Phoenix Roadrunners.
Despite a great performance by Los Angeles right fielder Kody Ripley, the Phoenix Roadrunners defeated the Sharks by the score of 5-4 at Shark Park. Ripley went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The Sharks, at 18-34, have lost 5 in a row.
Phoenix used the timely hitting of Brian Wheat to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Roadrunners on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Los Angeles manager K.J. Young.
