In a tension-filled contest between the Montreal Exports and the Indianapolis Clowns, pitcher Allan Allen was superb. The Montreal right-hander, who finished 5th in the DL in wins with 13 in 2063, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Indianapolis drops to 2-3.

Allen, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 6 in 7 innings and gave up no runs.

Allen, who led the DL in ERA with 2.55 in 2057, moves to 1-0 on the year with 6 strikeouts.

"Allan gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Montreal skipper Israel Montero.
