Pilots Lose to Sharks, 4-1
|
Los Angeles pitcher Oscar Dudzik had a large part in his team subduing the Seattle Pilots, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Dudzik yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 12-12. Cullen Lanzetta converted his 36th save in 40 tries.
Los Angeles used the hitting of Kody Ripley to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sharks on top, 2-0. For the game, Ripley had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ripley told the Los Angeles Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Los Angeles, at 73-87, sits in 4th place in the Import League Bock Division.
