Winger Delivers Walk-Off Win for Whalers
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Hartford Whalers got the win.
The performance of Amric Robinson proved critical in helping Hartford beat Syracuse, 3-2. The Whalers first baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Hartford reliever Dominic Hahl picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Jamie Matchett took the loss.
Dalton Winger was the walk-off hero for Hartford. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whalers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Winger said.
After today's action, Hartford sits at 75-85, while Syracuse falls to 77-83.
