With 5-2 Win, Tobs Improve to 24-23
|
The Carolina Tobs withstood an impressive performance by Baltimore first baseman Val Schmit to defeat the Bulldogs, 5-2, at Tobs Stadium. Schmit went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 10th save of the year was Logan Bunnell. The 4th-place Bulldogs have lost 4 straight games.
Carolina took a 4-2 lead on Julian Ludin's 5th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Ludin hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Baltimore pitcher Carl Vertullo shaking his head.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ludin told the Carolina Times.
