Dallas Beats New Orleans in Extra Innings
|
Dallas went toe-to-toe with New Orleans before a winner was decided.
The Dallas Drillers racked up a win at Henry Byrd Field, bumping off the New Orleans Voodoo, 5-3, in 10 innings. Sean Vitale, who started for Dallas, pitched effectively for his team. Dallas sits in third place in the Domestic League Lager Division at 26-21.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Abdoul Ren came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing New Orleans pitcher Blake Galik, he hit a 1-0 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Dallas on top, 3-2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Vitale.
