Patriots Lose as Exports Stage Late Rally
|
The Montreal Exports beat the Pawtucket Patriots, 4-3. Montreal pitcher and Kennewick, Washington, native Bruno Sheline led the way. Montreal pitcher Erik Hughes got the win. He's now 5-1. Ty Hurt was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Stedman Ortiz, his 36th.
Montreal took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Devyn Glover hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Exports in front, 4-3.
After the game, Montreal manager Israel Montero applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win makes Montreal 86-70.
