Freedom Cut Down Bulls, 4-3
|
The Philadelphia Freedom weathered a fine game by Denver designated hitter Andy Dillon to upend the Bulls, 4-3, at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. Dillon went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Quin Mueller came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Guy Hunnicutt picked up the save for Philadelphia, his 34th of the year.
In the bottom of the second inning, Rob Morris went deep for the Freedom. With Philadelphia trailing 3-0, he drilled a 3-run home run.
After the game, Philadelphia manager Kenichi Yasui applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Freedom, at 65-91, sit in last place in the Import League Stout Division.
