Cyclones Turn Back Washington, 3-1
|
The New York Cyclones got a magnificent performance from pitcher Oscar Dudzik, who muffled the Washington offense en route to a tight 3-1 Cyclones win at Kennedy Field at Metropolitan Stadium. Dudzik got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Dudzik allowed 1 run. Dawson Hupp picked up the save for New York, his 12th of the year.
The Cyclones prevailed in a game in which the pitchers had the upper hand.
"I felt we were ready to go," said New York manager Dave Taylor. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Cyclones sit in second place in the Import League Stout Division with a record of 28-19.
